Wecyclers, in partnership with the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), collects recyclable waste, including plastic bottles, plastic bags, and aluminum cans, at the household level using low-cost bicycle-powered collection vehicles called “wecycles”. Wecyclers rewards households with redeemable points based on the volume and quality of recyclables that they give us. Wecyclers sort and aggregate the materials and then sells it to Nigerian recyclers. The startup gives low-income communities in developing countries a chance to capture value from waste and clean up their neighborhoods through a incentive-based recycling program.
