On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, 234finance, in partnership with VFD Group Plc, hosted a virtual seminar in honor of International Women’s Day. The event, themed Beyond Limits: Women Leading Africa’s Revolution, gained hundreds of signups in less than a week of registration, providing an opportunity for women to connect with leaders in business and finance.
The seminar featured three speakers who shared their experiences in scaling ventures, financial empowerment and leadership.
Morenike Ominike, Executive Director at VFD Group Plc, spoke on the operational decisions that have driven the company’s success across its diverse investment ecosystem. Morenike, drawing from her experience in finance, real estate, hospitality, and entertainment, emphasized how women entrepreneurs can apply the same strategies she has used to excel in the male-dominated sector, particularly at the executive level.
Tosin Olaseinde, Founder of Money Africa, an ed-tech platform empowering over 200,000 individuals with financial literacy, shared how women can position their businesses for funding, attract investors, and build confidence in financial decision-making. Tosin, often referred to as “the new face of money” by The Guardian, also spoke about the importance of using financial tools for business growth.
Chidimma Uzoma, Founder of Zayith Food Company, shared her experience in scaling her agribusiness from a solo startup to a fully established company with 45+ employees. Chidimma discussed the importance of mentorship, partnerships, and community support in one’s entrepreneurial journey. She urged female business owners to challenge the limitations tied to the term “small business owner.” She stated, “I encourage female business owners to get used to paying for access. I don’t like the term ‘small business owner’ because it creates a mental cap, making you think small.”
The speakers provided a clear message that women can succeed in any industry by maintaining confidence in their abilities, applying the right strategies, and building strong connections.
The event concluded with attendees feeling ready to take on new challenges, with knowledge and support from the speakers and fellow participants.
