Award Description
The African Innovative Foundation (AIF) is calling on African entrepreneurs who are providing solutions to some of the continent’s daily challenges to apply for Innovative Prize for Africa (IPA) 2017. Entrepreneurs in the following industries are eligible for funding:
- Agriculture/Agribusiness
- Environment, Energy and Water
- Health and Well-being
- Information, Communication and Technologies (ICTS)
- Manufacturing and Service Industry
The deadline for application is on 3rd January, 2017
About IPA
Five years ago, AIF initiated the Innovation Prize for Africa to support African innovators by unlocking their potential and catalyzing the African innovation spirit, promoting home-grown solutions for Africa’s prosperity. They achieve this by investing in home-grown innovations and entrepreneurship and mobilizing a network of innovative enablers, driving business development and cross collaboration.

- Grand Prize Winner – US $100,000

- Preliminary Assessment by Judges (February – March 2017)
- Selection Panel Reconciliation Sessions (March 2017)
- Technical Validation (March – April 2017)
- Phone Interviews (May 2017)
- Face-to-Face interviews (July 2017; details TBA)
- Awards Ceremony (July 2017; details TBA)
